Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64188
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: Word completion often makes wrong suggestion when
typing very fast
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.0.2.2 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
I recently use LibreOffice 4.0.1.2 and 4.0.2.2 to transcribe in a meeting. I
typed very fast and I notice that often the word suggestion often suggests
wrong words, even words that don't exist. For example, if I begin to type
"attention", then in the middle, say, after the second "n", it will look for
words that begin with "n", instead of "atten". So it will suggest words such as
"atteneither", etc. I found that this kind of error would happen sporadically,
and ONLY when I type really fast. It appears to me that the bug has to do with
a race condition among several threads. I can't provide screenshot right now; I
will upload one if I can encounter the bug again soon.
Settings:
* Language: English (USA)
* I turned off spell checking
* In word completion dialog box, I chose:
[v] enable word completion
[ ] append space
[ ] show as tip
[v] collect words
[ ] when closing a document ...
Accept with: [Return]
Min word length: [6]
Max entries: [5000]
* OS: Linux Debian 6.0.7, x86_64, kernel 3.2.0-0.bpo.4-amd64, GNOME 2 desktop
