Stéphane Guillou (stragu) <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version|4.1.0.4 release |6.0.0.3 release Summary|Save / export / compress |Save image to PNG does not |Image to PNG has no or |use dialog's target |wrong DPI written into the |resolution, metadata is not |file |modified (comment 15) --- Comment #15 from Stéphane Guillou (stragu) <[email protected]> --- (In reply to Telesto from comment #0) I also tested in 4.4.7 with attachment 160695 to check Telesto's findings. (No export dialog in that version.) I used this ImageMagick command to check the metadata: identify -verbose png44nodpi.png | head -10 - for top picture: no resolution, no print size, no unit: Format: PNG (Portable Network Graphics) Mime type: image/png Class: DirectClass Geometry: 640x480+0+0 Units: Undefined Colorspace: sRGB Type: TrueColorAlpha Base type: Undefined Endianess: Undefined - for bottom picture: Format: PNG (Portable Network Graphics) Mime type: image/png Class: DirectClass Geometry: 640x480+0+0 Resolution: 39.37x39.37 Print size: 16.256x12.192 Units: PixelsPerCentimeter Colorspace: sRGB Type: TrueColor The resolution does correspond to the original 100 DPI. (39.37*2.54) In 6.0 (when dialog became available), 7.0, and a recent master build at 24.2: - for top picture, target is 96 dpi: Format: PNG (Portable Network Graphics) Mime type: image/png Class: DirectClass Geometry: 640x480+0+0 Units: Undefined Colorspace: sRGB Type: TrueColorAlpha Base type: Undefined Endianess: Undefined - for bottom picture, target is 96 dpi: Format: PNG (Portable Network Graphics) Mime type: image/png Class: DirectClass Geometry: 640x480+0+0 Resolution: 39.37x39.37 Print size: 16.256x12.192 Units: PixelsPerCentimeter Colorspace: sRGB Type: TrueColor So resulting files are the same in 4.4, 6.0, 7.0 and 24.2. The difference is that the DPI settings displayed in the dialog available since 6.0 have no impact on resulting files. Exact same results if changing the DPI to e.g. 150 or reducing it to 50 in the dialog before exporting. (Which is bug 150310, currently duplicate of bug 144195.) So my conclusion is: - Export of image was OK in 4.4, because we had no resolution/size dialog: it matched the original file. - Now that we have the dialog, we notice that it does nothing when changing the DPI setting. I will review the duplicate here and in bug 144195, when I check how full-document export and compress dialog differ to the above. Using 6.0 as earliest version, as that's when the dialog appeared. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
