--- Comment #11 from jan d <[email protected]> --- I seem to agree with Michael here, and think: 1) There should be an text-based indicator (instead of only color), for reasons of clarity and accessibility, but this should not be an either/or. 2) The change of background color can be helpful because one can rest the eye on the search field. 3) The method of a background change is used in other applications as well – using the same standard makes sense. 4) One should ensure that the contrast is still high enough (which I think a rather light red does) Label in bold and red does not do 2) and 3) and often is visually noisy.
