The split button might also be a 'swap' 'toggle button'. So if select 'print selection' the button will be defaulted to 'selection', until you switch it back. If you want to export/print selections repeatedly (or wanting it to be the 'default') The same system is already present for the shapes and highlight/character color button in toolbar.
