LO 4.x loads ODT ODS files after 10 or 25 seconds of 25% CPU activity.
Sometimes it happens on the 2nd or 3rd file opening.
Regularly every other or third file opening during same session.
LO 3.6.6 loads any "series" of files of any size in 2 seconds or less each, one
after the other without flinching.
Same hardware-software configuration.
Same sWriter and sCalc files opening.
Same testing hour after each version clean install and cold reboot procedure.
LO 4.0 behavior remained as such without antivirus/firewall live.
System : Win7 Pro x64, i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, ASROCK Z77 Extreme 4 MB,
EVGA GTX650ti 2G, and all that good stuff.
What else do you need to know?
Do I need to change my hardware-software setting, modify anything?
Thanks for you answer/consideration.
In the meantime, I'll keep v3.6.6.

PS : I experienced same effects on a laptop under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
