            Status: UNCONFIRMED

The file I was working on ... was initially a cvs (text) file.

Problem description: Unable to Change any Date Format (after selecting a column
or a cell)to another Date Format

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a filename.csv or filename.ods (date format 2013-05-03 is coming from a
.csv file saved as a .ods file).
2. Right click on the selection and select Format Cells...
3. Select 12/31/99 as the new format and click OK

Current behavior: No change in the displayed Date format

Expected behavior:The entire selection should change the diplayed Date format.
For information this feature is working well in MS Excel on all supported file
formats e.g. filename.csv filename.xls filename.xlsx filename.xlsm ... etc ...
The next feature may be good for another bug report or missing function.
I don't see any way to perform a Paste Special... by value (?). This is needed
if I want to substract a number of days to the Date field then copy the
selection cells (Cell Bx = Ax -1) to a new spreadsheet. i.e. saving the mdified
date field in the numerical (internal representation of the Date field to the
new spreadsheet ... Then I would select a Format change in the new spreadsheet
to get the (hanged) date in readable format.
In addition it looks like in Calc there is no way to perform a Data --> Sort on
a column of Dates Format. Which is telling that you have not implemented any
internal representation of this Date Field ...
In a short word LibreOffice Calc is completely unable to process any Date
Format at this time.
I should go back to MS Excell. As all the above steps are fully supported by MS
Excel any version.
Any comment on the situation would be appreciated.
