Bug ID: 157066
Summary: "rename" the document acts like "save as" and creates
"new" document but does not make edits there?
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.4.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I was working with LO Writer yesterday to write a "letter to Editor" type of
document in Pop!_OS . . . I simply wanted to change the file name, rather than
"save as" into a new file. I used the right click on doc to "rename" the
document, which, rather than "renaming" the original document, "saved it as"
another document. I didn't realize that and continued to make edits in what I
thought would be the "renamed" document . . . it wasn't until I checked the new
file to confirm edits made, that I saw that the new doc contained **some** of
the edits, but not all of them. The old file name had the edits???
Had to manually go back and re-re-edit the new file to get them all in.
Actual Results:
"renaming" file acted like "save as" and created new file, but did not put
edits made in the new file.
Expected Results:
File would be "renamed" and edits made would be included in it.
Reproducible: Didn't try
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
File should "rename" the file and make edits in that file.
