Still white on Linux too with gen and gtk3 VCL plugins, so you'right,
macOS-only.
Seems to have started in 7.6 then, because I see it white in 7.5 and grey in
24.2 alpha0+.

Please see attached screenshots - can this be fixed?

In my tests, the macOS highlight colour is more consistently used.
Can resetting you user profile to see if it has any effect?
