I am not familiar with them right now so I will need a while to review the documentation to learn exactly how to do this. In the meantime I can confirm that there are no compatibility mode settings applied to the shortcut on my windows system. To reiterate, running calc from the shortcut will demonstrate the hang problem, but running scalc at the command line does not.
