Bug ID: 157546
Summary: Saving window, when is called, the first "active"
selection is "search" instead of "file name"
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.6.0.3 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Hello there,
I am a telco engineer. Due to all the crimes against my children, I had to
leave my professional career and dedicate myself to raise my youngest son. But
I need to keep fighting for my children, this is why I started to study law,
which makes me use LibreOffice plenty of times. I did not use LibreOffice often
as I am doing now, and I prefer using LibreOffice (Ubuntu, 20.04.6 LTS) instead
of Microsoft office.
I noticed when I want to save my work, the window opens right in "search"
option, since I am trusting the "save" window is for saving, I lost a couple of
times my work, because I did not pay attention to the messages, I use mainly
the keyboard shortcuts and usually didn't really pay attention to the warning
messages.
Several times I noticed when I want to name a new file, the activate “menu” or
“active icons” change or goes directly to “search” a new file. Of course its
not found, but I wanted to name it, instead of searching for it. Its becoming
annoying verifying changing the “active menu icon” from "search" to "name".
This just happened a bit ago. Two upgrades before I did not have this “issue”.
I guess its too easy to solve, being engineer, programming plenty of equipment,
I deduce its just an initial definition which for some reason was changed, or
forgotten.
I tried to repeat the event so I could properly describe more specific
circumstances how this happens. It is randomly, I do not see a specif pattern
why sometimes, the (magnifier) search icon is active instead of the “name”
when I want to name a new file.
I read this is a bug which has been around some time.
Regards
Steps to Reproduce:
1.just I need to double check what menu is active, copy and paste to the proper
menu.
Actual Results:
it might lead to lose files. I just I need to double check what menu is active,
copy and paste to the proper menu.
Expected Results:
I hope I could have time to help the community to solve this issue, I consider
myself a good programmer to solve these type of issues, and I understand it
takes time to locate the origing of this issue.
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
I read the issue has been around some time. I just started having it 2 upgrades
before.
