Step 2 Reinstall LibreOffice Step 3 Desire to change [LibreOffice default fonts] to [my desired default fonts], but a text document must be opened to change writer default fonts. Step 4 I opened one of my documents (I should have opened a (blank/empty/new) document. Step 5 Open Tools> Options> Writer> Default Fonts: set fonts to desired fonts I assumed resetting the default fonts would be applied to new documents. It changed all the fonts in my existing document (which had 3 different fonts) to the my chosen default font settings [Liberation Sans of various point sizes].
