This is already tracked in bug 149220.
Regarding the crash/freeze, I tried on Linux with the following steps:
1. Go to https://www.census.gov/acs/www/about/why-we-ask-each-question/
2. Select everything with Ctrl + A, copy it
3. In Writer, paste
4. Authentication dialog pops up twice; cancel it every time.
Result: frozen between the two authentication dialogs, but contents eventually
pasted after cancelling the second dialog (with pictures).

In LO 7.2.0.3, the dialog pops up dozens of times, but eventually the contents
are pasted (broken pictures).
In OOo 3.3, OnlyOffice 7.5.1.23 and MS Office 365 (online), paste finishes in
only a few seconds, without a prompt for credentials. (No picture for OOo or MS
Office.)
In any case, I'd recommend using a recent version, the latest being 7.6.4.
Let's see if someone else can do some more testing on Windows.
