This bug report covers GPOS kerning. The lack of this make some professional fonts unusable with libreoffice like Linux Libertine. It's seems like the difference between the following commands to identify the abilities of a font otfinfo --tables [path to font] otfinfo --features [path to font] So it may be a first step on the road.
