Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64779
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: : Writer Crashes all the time
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.0.2.2 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description: Crashing every quarter of an hour under Ubuntu 13.04
Steps to reproduce:
1. Just typing text, no use of any special format or things except for standard
headers and bold.
2. Randomly crashes all the time.
Current behavior: crashing
Expected behavior: not crashing
Crashing comes with no warning these days. A few weeks ago it mostly crashed
after a minute long freeze. But now it crashes without any warning. It even
CRASHES WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING THE PROGRAM! For instance when I close a
document and and start a new document without doing anything yet and switch to
Firefox, It will often find that while in the background Writer has quit
without any notice.
Generally only a few lines of work are lost, but it completely destroys the
work flow.
I use a fresh install of Ubuntu 13.04 with LO pre-installed. (now Versie
4.0.2.2 .2.2 (Bouw-id: 400m0(Build:2))). Though Ubuntu 13.04 is less stable
than 12.04 and 12.10 and I have more crashes of apps, it is nothing compared to
Writer, that simply always crashes when you work for half an hour.
Version 3.6 under Ubuntu 12.10 was rock solid, but 4.0 is not. I use v4.02
under Windows7 as beta and it is also crashing, while earlier 3.6 was solid.
Love LO, I hope this is any help to you, thanks
