I guess that dE is talking about the upstream builds from
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/ AFAIK, they do not
include libpng because the system library should be available on all
systems.

dE, could you please provide the exact error message?
Do you have libpng12.so.0 available on your system?

I am confused. How is this related to the missing libpng on Gentoo? ;-)
