If it still happens in master it is a bug that is a result of the
border drawinglayer changes. I adapted the Excel import some time ago
based on a suggestion from Astron

I'm not sure if I asked for a review for 3.6 as this was a quick fix
done during another bugfix.

I'll have a look at it on Tuesday after the feature freeze.
