Maybe bug 94886 I just filed offers a different route? The main challenge is
avoiding significant and potentially confusing changes to the UI - in this
context I like the idea of adding new "typeface" button better but it still
leaves the issue of "bold" and "italics" mapping to functions that actually
make sense to the user.
