Even though I understand why this being done, things being wrong about it:
(A) It's done with user permission
(B) (t's assumed as general rule (losing control)
(C) This is a kind of user responsibility, IMHO
(D) I'm unaware of this happening in Writer (and same argument can be made)
(E) you make assumptions of what the user wants.
(F) There is no way to opt out
(G) It's pretty inconsistent.. It's only valid this font (or number of fonts)

I personally see this as the undesired solution for the issue. And I'm some
point I start even starting using Mike argument. LibreOffice isn't MSO :P

Other options would be
(A) Set it to Arial; but think this is a no go
(B) Make it an save option; convert font for capability
(C) Put some setting in options if this should happen or not. I even consider
it being disabled by default (out of principle)

And I make a configuration screen where you can set specifics (or setup
wizard).. Same said about auto-correct. All sorts settings (features) are
assumed to be 'good' for everyone.. while I having my doubts.

There is always reasonable sized group hit by the so called feature. And
assumptions made. Which creates undesired effects.

Instead of arbitrary making assumptions about way to many user groups, maybe
wise to simply ask. Instead of throwing all sorts of things on them without
explicit consent.
You can still fill in the 'defaults' which should be good for average.. But at
least people being aware those settings being around (and can be changed)

Nudge + consent is better compared to patronizing we know what's good for you,
IMHO. People don't want to be told .. the want to choose.
And you get rid of those 'arbitrary' choice and the angry mob at losers side.

NotePad++ and UltraEdit have all sorts of templates to target specific groups.
LibreOffice Writer Normal Assistance/Support, Minimum support, Advanced (manual
configuration)..
