sure one could split them out, like other separate *.xcd files (and with some care, they're not even dragged in/included then ;)). A bit of background for the current design is here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Configmgr_Refactoring Though performance optimization, especially for cold start, should also consider i/o - am a bit unsure of how much this split may yield there, globally.
