it seems to work for me. For instance, in
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154074 I uploaded a
.pptx file and Bugzilla detected it as
application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.presentation.
Could you please point to the ticket where you saw the problem you
mentioned?
