I submitted https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172799 over a month ago with the intention of soliciting feedback, but I haven't seen any useful responses. So, I'll ask in here: 1. Can someone who knows UX offer a suggestion for a good way to provide more detail for errors in formulas? 2. Can someone who knows about translations give some idea whether it might be worthwhile to add a substantial number of (mostly) templated strings to the translation workload, to make this happen? (I imagine there may be somewhere on the order of a few hundred distinct error message templates involved here. Note that after this change is made, only new or changed strings would need maintenance, so it shouldn't make much difference beyond the initial change.)
I'd rather not put in time or effort in this if it would impose too much work on the translators to be worth the benefits. Thanks, Ben
