Yes, the 12.04s base system (unity) is to old to handle the unity integration correctly. We will need to disable it in the backports. see also: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64115 @ricotz: Do you maybe find time to tweak the 12.04 backport?
