I'm not super-familiar with the stack they've included in FreedomBox
so far, but it seems like it would be relatively simple to offer a
slightly higher-end machine for hosting game servers in a similar
manner. As we've seen pretty recently, there are plenty of game
servers you could run on such a machine!
Actually I wasn't even thinking just about game servers, but about using
them as clients as well.
I had games like web-based strategy games in mind.
Would be nice if your galactic starfleet or pirate crew or whatever
actually lived in your freedombox and not on some foreign server...
