Maybe a "user-preference intelligent javascript file" you describe
above, sent by mail each time needed on user will to turn on/off
"intelligent embedded javascript", together used with a "dedicated
"intellgnence embedded" mail/nntp/whatever client would decrease
traffic. (checkboxes : I'm away + downtime since /date/, send me
the "diffs", i use /dedicated client/ -or- standard mail (js
capable) -or- web, ...)

Good idea! Thanks!

BTW, there is a project formerly named "Milimail" by French Forces,
publicly available, mainly built on XUL Firebird plugins

I don't know how the ACP127 plugin is distributed (some parts are
outsourced to military IT industry), but it could be a good start of
point if publicly available :)

Writed on their list : they recommends XIML instead of Xforms.

Don't know what XIML is, probably an XML format.

TSFH.
