My half cent. You have the right to do that, but IMHO it is a waste of time and energy. As others have said, Google is far from being a good alternative for communication, and I think they will not revert their decision. They are a company, and they have a business argument to do what they are doing, and I don't fool myself into thinking that they will listen to Free Software communities... Anyway, since some people are willing to spend energy on this subject (which is great), maybe it would be better to promote good alternatives to Google Talk/Hangout/whatever-they-are-calling-it-now? For example, here in Brazil we have https://jabber-br.org/, a public Jabber server, which I intend to help and promote :-). Nevertheless, I am keeping an eye on the letter.
