You just don't have enough imagination or faith in computer science research. For what it's worth I find your argument unconvincing anyway, as you have the chicken and egg problem with compilers, and almost everyone is using non-free non-documented hardware. And even free hardware with free documentation could trick you. Unless you make literally everything yourself, and interface with nothing, you may be tricked by your computer. We are mitigating this e.g. with free software. I believe we can mitigate it further with cryptography and sophisticated type systems. There is programming languages theory research going into this right now. - -- Alexander [email protected] https://secure.plaimi.net/~alexander -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQIcBAEBCgAGBQJWK9ZvAAoJENQqWdRUGk8BqcYP/Apxoujv/KAttEKZctPoe7XC ISE/1zeIZXjy4lUcX/8RV4RMrPyiPpUP231mIS6wHjZI6SIJfTus2JwRuXhNfg6q rfS50DrvYvjQJE58hJ1Pg3yStBYhG3yF8B7C5a16bq7/GaIOe6Mk/7uVxDwxs0DS J1wI11xIfwei3QJBY7MHK5UBLjFGCyLMVZMvHW6wyWZ81oUIp+wJO6wjkke7uBGK CyMkaGGf0FPPbxTAKd9jg/tB5QcUDlld1lqO6wC1tYFeAXOVPqJko32ptrzbGhjn QMd9Yl8uHDQjc7fx0DjIXfEk6zRbWAOyh1u14KXvN194EKeO9cIE/WtGCqJoIjxw FeV6civX9bKr7Z0BcUFXDutsXnUCYHEfrbAJRGheyyVajhm0goeHmb3J8vLU3cGl MUpBY1KKpRCNX2GFeEFf+Ho1B6YP8KjNeIN/rccAJMpcaqOkT6gUzWcutYI9abCV g3qDxQ0hM91OtoAm6zEqgqHuYZEpbBiqTzprfPT0kFpLuLV5l1Hx6Bqycs7/YKzS 5qeLidQZkhyMtthrvu0USVwsh8qGjctBx9RZnRT8Oa4FT2tUEOXaunyzjmvqgyut 3z7ovrZtjpF51C0GhIEirK+THrs92ai3rZbjp+dWGTUsx9kOjtF85l5QfsGBlm0X xJ2DwavG+WkKagxqH5fh =TLc9 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
