I also thought about it. I used a neat trick to get my GNU Social status updates to Twitter, and then from Twitter to Facebook, but not every update was sent.
At first, I used both Twitter and Facebook to follow the people I know, *then* I started to do the cross-posting. Some days after, someone came to me saying that "this way, I would be contributing to Twitter and Facebook usage", and I then I became so ashamed that I decided to remove both accounts. End of story: I'm ashamed of myself, gained no visibility from the people I know that uses these services, and I'm still think if it was a smart decision to remove the accounts.
