I like your idea. I do not usually carry a phone and when I do, it is not a smart phone. But, regarding your idea, I do not have the need for a music player. I'd rather have a way to organize my thought in text or have them become text by a speech-to-text application which does not require permanent dependence on it. I also need something that will help me organize my contacts. And that is about it.
