Perhaps one problem with the "Respect Your Freedom" brand name is that it's not specific enough. The goal of the project is to identify hardware that respects users' software freedoms. Perhaps if the badge was "Respect Your Software Freedom" it would be less problematic to people highly invested in the "Free/Libre Hardware" movement.
