Well, Canoeboot arrived after GNU Boot temporarily, and "Canoeboot" is called like that because it's pronounced quite like "GNU Boot". The original idea of the project was to make fun of GNU Boot. FYI, in the first place, Denis and I tried to convince Leah to use the name osboot for her project and leave Libreboot to be the 100% libre project. She refused. We then took a bad decision : to use ourselves the name Libreboot (in the idea we could perhaps force her to stop using it). Then, we choose GNU Boot since she was still using Libreboot as a name and we were willing to stop unnecessary hostilities about names. So now, we are GNU Boot, we have a logo (created by Jason Self), we have an agenda (which is different from Libreboot or Canoeboot). We are a different project. GNU Boot is a GNU project, following the FSDG, and currently integrating into GNU Guix (thanks to the work of GNUtoo) as a build system and a way to help us maintain the project more efficiently (with dependencies as packages). We're also developing things for upstream projects (I'm currently working full-time on D16 raminit in coreboot). We need help to improve our documentation, indeed. But our project is definitely not dead. Thanks a lot for writing what you thought, it's helpful for us.
