Subject: Re: Welcome to the libretto group

Dear group,
Probably all of us recentely received the letter I attached below.
Iwould warn anyone to move to this group not only because the fact that this kind of
methods of getting customers is highly reprehensible but there are several concerns
about eGroups policy in general. For those who reads french there is e recent rewew on
http://www.zdnet.fr/actu/busi/a0013803.html
For those who does not read french here is in brief:
The point is that there was an agreement between Voila.fr (part of France Telecom) end
EGroups France. Then after eGroups merged whith One List it just dumped Voila.fr.
Now this attempt to make this takeover on our group...
Internet is not a jungle!!!
Regards,
Alexandre

Hello,

I've added you to my libretto group at eGroups, a free,
easy-to-use email group service. As a member of this group, you
may send messages to the entire group using just one email address:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] eGroups also makes it easy to
store photos and files, coordinate events, and more.

Here's a description of the group:

Toshiba Libretto Forum

Here's my introductory message for you:

How to use: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

This group is not moderated, messages
are posted directly
to the web archive. I reserve the right
to delete messages
from the archive after they are posted,
including spam,
duplicate, and test messages.

Anyone can view messages in this forum
or web archive without
subscribing. Software at eGroups.com
tries to hide email addresses
when displaying posted messages in the
web forum to protect from
spam. That is why in this message I have
a space before @
in all email addresses that I want you
to see in the forum.

Only subscribers can post to this group.

To receive messages by email you can:
1. Subscribe by email. A password will
be mailed to you.
2. Register with eGroups.com on the web
site with an email address
and chose a password. Then sign in to
this group

Your email address becomes your user id.
On the web you can change
your password and even your email
address user id.

If you forget your password, sign in
form lets you ask
for the password to be sent to your
email address.
If you are a already a member of this
group and did not
receive your password, try this. Fill
the email address
at which you receive list mail and ask
for password.

Only registered members with a password
can access the Files area.
I would like to make that area
accessible to anyone,
eGroups.com does not support that at the
moment.
Please upload useful software to this
area, only legal stuff.

Only registered members with a password
can post directly on the web,
eGroups.com asks you to sign in.

Members could choose to read the web
forum and not receive email.
There are many other options. Sign in
and explore.

I have also started an independent
additional archive at:
http://www.mail-archive.com/libretto%40e
groups.com/
This is read-only. Use it when
eGroups.com is down.

Best Regards,

Administrator of
libretto @eGroups.com

PS: I am subscribing to this list
members of libretto @BasicLink.com,
only those that posted to that list in
year 2000. If you do not want
to receive messages from libretto
@eGroups.com, you can either unsubscribe
by email, or better go to the web forum,
turn off mail and remain a member.
That way you can post when you need to
and browse the web forum when you
want to. If you know any members that I
have missed, please forward this
information to them.

I do not know what kind of problems Dan
had with the list lately.
He had certainly done a great service to
us all. I missed the list
when it went silent. I have no resources
to run a list of my own.
This forum and mailing list is a free
service of eGroups.com.
I am starting the libretto group here
and if you find it useful
it will live and run itself, with or
without this lazy administrator.

And have a look at my web page under
construction about Libretto M3.
