Subject: Ridiculous -- New Hard Drive on Lib 70...
Incredibly, I was able to figure out how to get dos bootup to communicate
to my parallel port hp7200e cdrw. A stunning technical achievement. So
now I can use dos commands on my cd drive. But the fun just seems to be
beginning. How do I proceed from here? I don't have a desktop or ghost
images or such like that. All I have is my lib and dos and that's it.
Windows95 "companion" cd (I don't think I received any floppies) has
setup.exe files but they don't run unless you are already in windows.

Toshiba recovery diskette has 3 options for cd and parallel port isn't one
of them. I might try fooling it by inserting my parallel drivers into
places it thinks it's looking for trantor drivers or something, who knows.
The Toshiba recovery cd is accessible via dos but just has a couple big
zip files. Hmm.
I suppose I could try xcopying my copy of my current windows folder from a
cd and see what happens when I type "win" from dos...
So it goes. This is ridiculous.
