You'll probably need to follow what others have done and tie a thin needle to a
solidering iron to get the clearence you need.
maybe a local university or electrical engineering dept. will have people
skilled in surface mount solidering to help you?
while you've got the libretto disassembled, maybe remove the plastic spacers to
prevent the 9.5mm HD from causing future problems as well.
