Bought a 4.2GB toshiba drive that worked very well in my old compaq but wouldn't boot in the libretto. Someone on the list suggested i boot the libretto from a floppy, then fdisk and format the harddrive in the libretto. Never figured out what difference it made, but worked like a charm...saved me a hard drive. --mda -----Original Message----- From: Pres Waterman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, July 13, 2000 11:11 AM To: Libretto Subject: Re: Re[4]: Libretto 70CT won't recognise Tosh 6.4GB HD - Hel Date: Thu, 13 Jul 2000 11:48:39 -0400 From: "Pres Waterman" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Re[4]: Libretto 70CT won't recognise Tosh 6.4GB HD - Hel >>Danger Will Robinson...if you don't leave that unformatted bit, sooner of > >I'll ensure that I reformat teh disk and leave some space at the end. Going from >1.6 to 6.4 GB it's not going to be a great loss <g> The very best way to do this is to f-disk IN THE LIBRETTO. As you may recall, BIOS "lies" to f-disk by the amount necessary for hibernation. However, I am not sure what happens up in the 6GB+ range. Pres Waterman W2PW c/o Patchogue Motors, Inc.
