When I have no PCMCIA cards in the dock there is no noise. I then put in either a 3COM Etehrlink III or 3COM megahertz 56K modem card into the dock and the speaker will make a buzzing noise. With the modem its almost the same as the modem noise you get when connecting, but the thing is disconnected from the phone line so it cant actually be a connection. The ethernet card seems to generate more of a low hum. Pressing mute on the audio control does nothing, as does the volume control. It didnt do this before I re-installed Win95 or 98 on to the mahine. Any ideas of what might be wrong? On the mobile front, Ive found a card that TDK do specifially for connecting the Nokia 6110 via PCMCIA.
