Don't worry about seals. I have never seen any on the HDD cover, which is
the small bar along the edge visible when you flip the computer over. It is
held by 2 screws.

Don't put in a HDD too thick, match the original exactly, and don't tell the
repair center you changed the drive. Just put the original in and return it.

I blew an opportunity to have a fried L50 Japanese model repaired a full
year out of waranty in Tokyo. It seemed they were going to fix the bad
motherboard until yours truly, the BLABBERMOUTH, mentioned that I had heard
putting a new HDD could damage the board. BOING. I was bounced out of there
in an Akihabara second.
