According to the manual, the battery is a rechargeable Lithium Metal Hydride 
type 2.4v/11maH. Charging time is 48hrs, discharge time is around a month.

I believe I have a dead one on my system - remove the main battery and 
everything in the bios resets - but the clock keeps time.

The manual is remarkably reticent about part numbers though...
