  Not always.  Two reasons rech. batts die.
  1. age.  chemistry simply decays to the point where the battery is unuseable.
    Most of these rechg. batts have 2-5 yr. lifespans regardless of useage.
  2. complete discharge.  related to chemistry.  when rech. batts are
completely discharged (sitting there), it may be impossible or difficult to
revive them.  Trickle charging, charging for several days, and other methods
may revivie such a battery, but once they're gonners, they're gone for good.
