Subject: Libretto ff1100v: Installing Japanese Apps in English Win98

Finally couldn't stand to think of all that fun I was missing, and bought
the Japanese ff1100v. Figured if JPD could do a conversion, so could I -
and really didn't have any idea as to the inherent differences between
Japanese Win98 and the English version. Not sure I understand it now, but
know that I can't trick the English version into installing applications
from the recovery CD which use Japanese language subdirectories, and that I
can't just change the regional settings inthe Japanese version to convince
it to speak English. When I boot the recovery floppies, the first DOS
information is in Japanese and English, I think from a bunch of .sys files
loaded into a ram-drive. Then the English install loses it. So, after
admitting to myslef that I'm not the computer genius I thought I was (way
tooo much usage of I in this email!)... I'm crying out for help.

Anybody weather this storm before?

thanks!
Nathan
