I got a lot of useful information about the 1100 from
http://pokemon.ho.org/ff1100/
His machine is a plain 1100, rather than an 1100v like yours and mine, but
other than the hard drive I believe they're the same.

PS: Out of curiosity, what version of the BIOS does your machine have?
Mine is 7.20, which seems old.
