I have not visited computer stores for some time,
and I never looked for a replacement screen.
A new replacement screen would probably be also
expensive here in Tokyo. That is just my guess.
I expect that only Toshiba will have them new.
Some upgrade/repair shops may have the screens
from failed units. Or you can buy a failed unit yourself.
Ask the mailing list if someone has a failed unit to sell.

But first try to find out from Toshiba for sure which
units have the screen compatible with 50CT.
If screens from models 20 and 30 are compatible,
you may find those to be cheaper.

Hi!
I saw an old message from you (about memory replacement) and wondered if any
of the shops in Tokyo (or elsewhere in Japan) still stock screens for
Toshiba Libretto? I need a screen for a model 50CT but am fairly sure that
the 60 and 70 models have the same LCD component. My screen is cracked, but
the backlight still works. Toshiba Australia have one in stock, but want
nearly twice as much as the value of a second-hand Libretto is worth! (about
US $ 550!) I can't afford that and if I could, I would buy a used later
model.....
Please let me know if you have any sources or ideas.
