Your hint with the localized software versions was very good! I use a german Win2k and I have replace the english power management with a german one. This works fine! At http://support.toshiba-tro.de/win2000/2000update.htm I found 6 Win2k-files in several different languages (probably you have to register to get access to this site): - Toshiba Value added Logical Device This is neccessary to have on the Libretto - Toshiba Value added Logical Device Special I don't know the difference to the standard version, any ideas? - Toshiba Power Extensions 1 This is the power management module, which extends the standard Win2k power management control panel. It adds a tab, where it is possible to adjust the processor speed and the display brightness acorrding to the power source resp. battery level. This module seems to fit best for the Libretto 110! - Toshiba Power Extensions 2 This power management module adds the battery control panel and the "light bulb" to the taskbar. It is similar to the Win98 "light bulb". It works on the Libretto 110, but there are some problems: there are some more possibilities to adjust, but on the other hand, e.g. for the display brightness there are only 3 steps available, but the Libretto supports 4 steps. The movement of the sliders is extreme slow and if I click in the white field ("devicename, mode") the panel crashes. I assume that this module is designed for the newer Toshiba notebook computers. - Toshiba Utilities This module should contain the BIOS-adjustment tool, but I have not yet tested it. - Toshiba Mobile Extensions I have no idea what the purpose of this software is, I found somewhere mentioned, it is used for docking stations, I have not yet tested it. I'm absolutely delighted of my Libretto with Win2k, it is really ein geiles Gerat (sorry, my english is not good enough to translate this correct...)! Up to now I was an NT user, this are now the first steps on Win2k. (I successully avoided to own or use a Win9x Computer...) regards Gerhard ________________________________________ Gerhard Kapusta Email office: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Email home: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fax&Voicebox: +4989-1488201115 ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://libretto.basiclink.com/archive - Archives http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/portable/faq.html - FAQ -------UNSUBSCRIBE------- mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=cmd:unsubscribe --------UNSUBSCRIBE DIGEST------ Use above but add DIGEST to the subject line... **************************************************************
