Subject: AW: Upgrading

Hi Brian!

I would suggest never to upgrade an operation system, install it from
scratch!

It has be prooved since many years (mostly with Windows NT4) to have at
least 2 operating systems (may be identical) on one computer. Together with
a network card this allows to move entire partitions for backup purpose. If
I do not make too big mistakes, I have always at least one running spare
operation system.

So I suggest: try to install a network card, save all important data and
start again...
If you can't connect to a network, plug the hard disk into another PC and
save your data.

Gerhard
