It is normal to have 2 Topic97 cardbus controllers, 4 with the enhanced
docking station (1 for each slot) and just 1 PCMCIA Card Services.
It sounds to me as if your hard drive may not have been formatted in your
libretto. If this is the case then no room was set aside on your hard drive
to store your system files, and every time your system suspends to disk,
you are going to trash part of your hard drive.
As a quick test run fdisk.exe
first page should ask if you want to enable large disk support
hit enter (Y)es
then 4 and enter display partition information
it should list total disk space
If this number is smaller that what windows is reporting, then it
safe to assume that your hard drive was not fixed and formatted in
your Libretto.
As to your Floppy problem I would download this driver:
ftp://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/l110fdd8.exe
It's driver version 1.02
For my two cents worth, if you don't NEED Win2K, then I would stick with
Win98 SE. And Download the drivers from Toshiba web site. You need to
get software to support larger than 8 GB drives (It's free with IBM drives -
you do need to download it however)
As to a backup device I would look at a CD writer (burner) and a Adaptec
SCSI interface PCMCIA NOT CardBus for it. The Adaptec so that you can
boot it from DOS as a simple cd player to reload the OS. The 2 GB PCMCIA
card drive would really be worth less as a backup device, as you would need
to
have windows load in order to use it. Basic dos does not support PCMCIA
devices.
Toshiba is showing this as the display driver:
Windows 98 Display Driver version 4.10.01.006.Q6.13.03fd for NeoMagic
2160 in Portege 7000 and the 110.
as you are using the ...Q6.13.03fl not fd you may want to download this
file:
