Hi Paul,

Thanks for the info. You're right - it's a good price, even as a back-up
drive, but I don't think they ship outside America (I live in New Zealand -
several kilometres outside most US cyberstores delivery zones). I'm
checking with their sales guys though, and I'm entirely willing for them to
surprise me.

Simon

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the Akihabara info, although I've checked the dates and my friend
is flying out tomorrow, so I may have left it a bit late for her to get one.
I think it might be mostly the hard-drive that is damaged (scandisk is now
into about hour 18, and has been at around 13% for the last ten hours) so I
was looking at getting a new one - unfortunately most of the suppliers
(Weesco etc) aren't brilliantly set up for overseas orders (need
International Money Order etc, don't accept credit cards).

Anyway, I wanted to check on the height issue with you first - you have
previously mentioned that the 20G drive works OK, so I assume you have put a
9.5mm drive into your 1100 (and I already know what a hassle it is to get at
the drive in these things) - any height problems? I can't really remember
how much leeway I had in the bracket when I put the 6.4G one in.

thanks,

Simon
