Subject: Libretto 70ct Repairable?

Hello, I've just subscribed to this list because I am the owner of a toshiba
libretto 70ct, a computer i've always wanted and ended up picking one up on
EBay for the low low price of $290. Well I only recieved the docking station
and the subnote no power supply, so i purchased a switchable ac-dc converter
(switchable from 13.5 or 30 volts at 1000mA at radio shack. Power supply
worked at 13.5, get the charging light and ac light to come on, except the
screen wouldnt show anything after the RAM test (i could access the bios
though). So I tried booting from the floppy drive, and nothing even after i
set the bios on FDD boot first. I even (thinking a winME system disk was to
current to boot from) made a format a: /s disk in my old laptop with MsDos
5.0 on it. Nothing would happen, the computer would light the A: drive light
up for a second, then nothing. So that was one problem i had. The next is a
little more serious. I accidently flipped the switch to 30v, some smoke came
from the computer, then after i flipped back to 13.5, the AC and battery
light would flash. If i unplug the battery and just try and run AC the green
AC light comes on steady, but will flash if i try and press the power button.
Is anyone familiar with this?? I have a little electronics background and
would like to fix this if i could. Any way if this computer doesnt work out
i'll probibly sell it for parts (the screen has no dead pixels) and get me a
100cs and overclock to 266 :) . Any suggestions/tips would be welcome. Thank
You
