Well, yeah... I've done this... copied the X:\Win98 directory from the 
Windows installation CD-ROM disk to the HDD via DCC.  And it certainly does 
work just fine, getting around the need for a CD-ROM drive.  But "a little 
faster"?  I don't know.  Not having network cards in any of my systems, I 
use DCC a lot, and it's rate of data transfer is slow as all heck!  A fast 
CD-ROM drive these days can probably do the Windows installation in LESS 
time than it will take to DCC the data to the Libretto and run the 
installation.  But the DCC route is certainly is the cheaper way to go!
