I had a similar problem with scandisk... defrag was ok but there was some process that
kept interrupting scandisk so in the end I had to scandisk from MSDOS prompt... I had
closed my AV program, firewall program and everything else... still a bit of a
mystery. The only items showing when ctrl-alt-del was <FindFast> <Systray> <Explorer>
and <Loadwc>
