There has been so much exchange of Linux OS information it has really(!) motivated my
interest. I am always wanting to learn, so I will certainly be reading up on Linux
through the web and the bookstores and the library.
But what can you linux worshippers tell me about major differences (pros and cons)
between Linux and Windows, or even good old DOS?

What serious advantages does Linux have to offer and what major obstacles does it
offer the (now) standards likd Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access (or there competing
Linux-based alternatives), and are those alternatives interpretable by users of the
aforementioned standardsw and OSs?

AND>>> What about memory usage!!! [This is my major complaint about MS.] Microsoft
has become such a memory hog over the years, has Linux tried to stay lean? And is
that an arguemnt for using small memory banks like 32M?
