The CT50 and later is quite happy to run at 16-bit colour (i.e. 64k colours) 
provided the screen resolution is low enough. I think it has to be 640*480 
on the 50 to get 24-bit colour. The TFT display can't handle that without 
contouring but an external monitor is fine.

You may need to enable this in the bios - there's a setting in there which 
restricts the video modes...never quite worked out why!
